Dear Caravel Family,
As we continue with our remote learning and with a consistent schedule for our students, we have made just a few changes to that schedule. Attached along with this letter will be a remote learning schedule, as well as the expectations for remote learning. The schedule changes are very slight, with classes extended a bit and an addition of a “social time” that is monitored by a staff member, but designed for students to have time to talk with each other.
We fully understand that remote learning can be difficult, but I can honestly say, through everything that has happened thus far this school year, our Caravel students have done a remarkable job in every way. I know that they will continue to do so in this current remote setting.
If your child is not feeling well, we ask that you continue to reach out to our school nurse - Tina Muecke - via email at tmuecke@rsu87.org. If your child is in need of food from our school kitchen, please reach out and let me know. Also, please visit our website for updates and updated health information at https://www.rsu87.org/o/cms.
Keep in mind that this remote learning is a continuation of the classroom, and that any time missed will result in your student falling behind. Attendance is very important. Please reach out to me through email, at any time, with questions or concerns and I will return your email as soon as possible.
On a related note, winter sports will begin on January 4th, following the current guidance. More information will be released tomorrow, along with an interest sign-up, so that we can create a positive experience for our athletes.
This journey has not been easy, but if we work together as a community, we can support our students to help them be successful regardless of the setting in which that success occurs.
